Michel Alex has been the voice, the main composer and dramaturge of the irreverent Custom Circus company in its vast performative journey. Acting in the skin of his theatrical persona (aka Michel Gigolo) he has created an artistic universe populated by dysfunctional creatures, dark settings and melodies of decadent beauty.
His literary journey is but one aspect of his multi-faceted talent, as he brings to written narrative the worlds he created as background for the plays of the company, a journey Brodom Publishing is proud to enlarge, by publishing his work in the English language.
The irreverent story of LE CABARET ROCK now appears in its novel version, after its homonymous theatrical show and original soundtrack. In the year of its premiere, this play received the applause of 40,000 spectators, remaining to this day over successive seasons, as the most performed show at the Nirvana Studios.
He is a French-Portuguese performer artist, musician, writer and metteur en scène (play director). His transdisciplinary work extends into other areas, such as visual arts, concepts of cultural entrepreneurship, artistic production, curatorships and international mentoring, namely on the Erasmus platform. He was born in Paris – France in 1970.
BRUNO MARTINS SOARES
Bruno Martins Soares started writing stories at a very young age and when he was 24, he submited his work to one of the largest and most prestigious Young Writers’ contests in the country for the second time, winning the contest and going to Torino, and then Rome and Sarajevo, representing Portugal as a Young Writer.
Then, one day, he decided to write a Sci-Fi novel he had been chewing on for some time. That was THE ALEX 9 SAGA. He was a published novelist one year later, and soon was featured in a series alongside names like George R.R. Martin or Bernard Cornwell, hailed as an author to recon within Portuguese Sci-Fi.
He worked in the movie business and co-wrote and co-produced REGRET, a thriller motion picture by director Nuno Madeira Rodrigues (Castaway Entertainment). He also collaborated in the writing of animation pictures such as A ESPUMA E O LEÃO (THE FOAM AND THE LION), a short picture by Cláudio Jordão which won dozens of awards around the globe.
He wrote several other Sci-Fi stories and novels, like the award-winning THE DARK SEA WAR CHRONICLES, LAURA AND THE SHADOW KING, and INSIGHT, published in English by Brodom Publishing.
